Seattle Historic Casement Windows Built by Westbrook

Seattle Historic Casement Windows Built by Westbrook

These Seattle historic casement windows built by Westbrook in our wood shop are exact period replications of the 100 year old windows in the rest of this Madison Park historic home. As you can see in the photos there is a tremendous amount of shop work that is involved. The investment in the proper machinery, the proper shop space to work in, and the time spent to learn and practice historic carpentry mortice and tenon joinery, are of a great value to my customers. This is because there are very few carpentry craftsman available today that have all of these components in a singular personalized custom service approach with each project and customer. At Westbrook you have this option from dropping off a historic window at the shop for repair or rebuilding. Or restoring or rebuilding the windows around your historic home. I also make and install traditional wood storm sash, and screens. I also make arch top sash and rebuild moldings to match.  The series of photos below show components of sash mortice and tenon joinery, hardware, and storm sash. Why not restore or rebuild your windows to last another 100 plus years? Isn’t that a better value for you, the community, the environment, and future craftspeople? Seems counter intuitive to replace with modern windows that cant be repaired and only last a short time before replacement is needed. A sort of designed obsolescence, all for a corporations continuous profit? Just something thought provoking to consider. Feel free to contact me anytime!!

Below these are photos of  my wood shop with some sash in various stages of being worked. It’s important to have a controlled environment for restoring or replicating your historic windows, doors, cabinets, and millwork like entry staircases.
