This project is a custom designed historic home garden porch and staircase replication. The porch replication matches the millwork and carpentry of the vintage era! All the design’s were done in collaboration with my client. We created the best space and millwork details to enjoy living in and looking at. Everything you see is all hand built, from scratch, by master carpenter Daniel Westbrook, with the exception of the entry door. The only portion of this project that was done by others was the flooring, and the painting. Much of the work was milled in the shop, like the windows, sash, stair parts, shed door, wooden gutter, and various other millwork items too much to list here. All wood is either vertical grain fir, or vertical grain cedar, with the exception of the usual framing lumber and plywood.
Many of the specific details of this project I have published in other posts in this website like the making of the stairs, or the making of the sash etc. the links are listed below if you are interested in seeing more detail, just click on the title and it will take you to that post.

This is the ultimate in quality, but I would not have been able to execute to that level without the work that my client put into the decisions, and choices that were done in a timely manner. Often times we meet at the shop to discuss, or mock up a specific millwork profile or look. Ive also worked with many designers, and architects in this way, with exceptional results!
For members of the community that are looking for this level of detailed personalized service, and craftsmanship Westbrook may be a good fit for you.
