Historic Home Master Suite Remodel
Board and Vellum Architects worked with the owner on a prior project and recommended Westbrook for this project. I’m not sure what happened to the working relationship with the previous contractor. In any case, I agreed to do the project because I felt like it required a level of expertise and execution methodology where an experienced small contractor like Westbrook would be a good fit.
The entire second floor was demolished down to the studs, including removing windows. Access to the dormers for residing and window installation was best done with scaffolding, which was installed by my great trade partner at Magnum Scaffolding. Sure love those guys! Some of the unique features of this project were the flush tile to drywall transition in the master shower and the large crown going through the shower area. The plumbing wall behind the vanity features a laundry pass-through a cabinet that required careful planning. All the custom framing and millwork installation was done by Westbrook. We even got to do a couple of films and articles one of which was a How-To Window Trim Installation.
In the end, we finished the project while the clients were on a long European vacation. I received one of the most heart felt reviews when they returned, mentioning not one punch item needed to be done.
Thank you! Looking forward to working with you guys again. See you ’round the neighborhood!
