This front exterior wooden staircase had been repaired a few times over its history. This original 1906 Ballard home is owned by people who care deeply about keeping and preserving its original historic architecture. The front stairs still had the original framing, and some millwork components still operational. Id say that was a pretty good run, and now it was time for a staircase rebuild.  As you can see from the photos I made the stairs using a mix of modern and historic methodologies. This mix of best practices ensures the very best in craftsmanship quality today. The detailed architectural features you see are reminiscent of the details of an interior star with the wrapped tread bullnose. Also, notice the extended bottom tread that receives the newel posts. A feature that adds sophistication.
