Custom Cabinetry Built To Match
This project is a fairly simple look, but not so simple to execute. Custom cabinetry built to match always has its complications and this project had its fair share. For example the small size of the project actually make it more difficult to be efficient. Also having to be built precisely between wall to wall, with scribing face frames to fit interfacing with a window stool, actually compounds the possibility of error. Lastly the refrigerator is a zero clearance inset, with plywood faces, there is a pull out garbage bin drawer, recycled butcher block counter top, 5/4 bullnose built in shelves, and a modified heat duct under the base cabinet. All this was executed from design, to build, and install by Westbrook working one on one personally with the client. Most of the time in the cabinet industry homeowners have the option to purchase custom cabinetry from a supplier, but then they would need to hire another service to install. Or a customer can hire a contractor that would purchase the cabinets, and then have one of their carpenters install, or sub it out. most general contractors wouldn’t touch a project like this because its not perceived as profitable, and they would be right. most home owners would find it difficult to get the actual customizations they want, and experience the frustration of being funneled into a limited number of choices. This is simply the opposite at Westbrook. Being a small personalized one on one custom carpentry and millwork service with a large wood shop, field tools outfitted in a utility truck for transport, and 35 years experience, is by design. I’ve engineered my business system to actually be profitable for small custom complicated master craft projects, and be valuable to the general clientele in my market. Love doing these small custom projects especially with people who are just fun to work with!
