This new custom staircase built by Westbrook was made to match a vintage historic home in Seattle. Milled from vertical grain western red cedar stock in our shop, and installed in the field. The S4S material was pre primed on all sides for maximum longevity. The design was done by Daniel’s working craftsman knowledge of historic casework, and modern carpentry methodology. This created a sophisticated stair millwork visual design for maximum long term exterior application for our moist environment in the North West. In a team effort with the owner we started with a real space layout and used mockups to get an idea of the placement of the stairs. This real time design work continued through the project from framing to millwork trim in a more personalized design/build service with the client. Working with a craftsman in this way is the ultimate in executing custom, quality for exactly the expected desired result.
