Millwork Replication for a Historic Railing
As you can see in the photo below my shop is set up to handle a wide variety of different carpentry and millwork projects. Its necessary for me to have heavy floor tools that can easily be reconfigured for all the unique projects that come through my doors from small repairs to cabinets more complicated millwork runs. In this case I’m replicating a historic radius balustrade for a Seattle victorian home. Whats required for this project is workspace to store the stock, prep the stock to working sizes, laminate the railing stock, and run it through various machines like a table saw, molder, shaper, and also be able to assemble in a controlled environment. Much of my equipment is on wheels in order to easily move around. This allows me to modify my set up as needed for any project. One thing to note, that can’t be easily seen, are the custom knives for the equipment needed to match the profiles exactly. These I have custom made and usually takes about a week to have made.
Feel free to contact me anytime with your project. My shop is open by appointment for drop off and pickup if needed.
