Historic Front Porch Post Plinth Replacement
This beautiful Queen Anne four square historic home had the bottoms of the original posts already replaced. The owner showed me an old black and white photograph showing the front of the home that clearly showed something different. So, I needed to design a better using wood material. For projects like these, I keep beam stock in the shop that’s been dried. Usually beam stock purchased off the shelf is green (High Moisture). With a glue-up like this, it’s important to have a low moisture content for the woods stability. As an old car restoration person, my client really understood the detailed steps it takes to do a project like this.
Great People to work with! Looking forward to the windows.
