Westbrook Restorations is an experienced remodel carpentry service. This is why we can keep "in house" all our carpentry from framing to fine trim installation when remodeling your home. We also work directly with you the home owner, any of your carpentry needs, from structural framing to fine millwork installations, and even cabinet building, or window replication. Our specialty is custom, meeting the needs of customers who require an experienced approach, in hiring a carpentry contractor.

This simple custom railing was made as a small portion of a much larger remodel project. However it does have custom components especially in designing a space between an upper and lower floor. The millwork is off the shelf standard trim components from Dunn Lumber company, and custom modified by master carpenter Daniel Westbrook.

As a video host, article writer, and master carpenter, I am privileged to teach back into the trades how to do custom installs like these. I also feel that it's important for clients to understand the detailed steps and experience it takes to accomplish an install like this. This video is a step by step tutorial.

This allows us a level of control over custom quality, and efficiency, of our product.

For instance when installing historic stairs we may have a temporary field work station, but for wide bevel post caps or railings we’ll manufacture with our shop tools and even pre finish there, in a controlled environment.

This means we don’t have to wait in a schedule for a custom millwork shop like many other contractors do, or sometimes we may simply be the only firm in town capable of performing the task at all!!

A quick video tutorial about how we install Cabinets

The video below is showing an interesting historic home railing restoration I did long ago. Not quite as comfortable in front of the camera as I am now, but with anything it takes dedication and practice!
